Position Title: Junior Data Centre Support Technician
Reporting to: Team Leader, Data Centre Support Technician
Salary: TBA
Position Function: Provide a high level of customer service in order to meet customer needs
Responsibilities:
- To be 1st line of contact with clients and prospective clients on a day-to-day basis
- Customer liaison and support.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the control room and Data Floors
- Responsible to know when to support other colleagues
- Be competent on the internal ticketing system and keeping tickets up to date.
- Ensuring site is manned at the relevant period
- Respond to client requests within SLA and in a professional manner
- Keeping up to date and following the general Bunker procedures
- Personal Email management.
- Responsible for monitoring the BMS systems and escalation procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining a secure facility in line with the Proximity access, CCTV and Guard tour procedures.
- Ad hoc tasks as and when required by your Line Manager.
- Assist in the installation of a variety of equipment including hardware, cabling and tray work
- To undertake the testing and support of software
- To ensure that backups are carried out in accordance with procedures including tape changes where appropriate
- To escort clients, and potential clients, around ‘The Bunker’ facility
- To be responsible for building new business and existing client account management,
- To assist Front Desk and Security Team, when required
- To assist other departments as and when required
- Maintain the stock system and Delivery Systems, so that critical spares holdings are kept within defined parameters
- Assist with other tasks as and when required by your line manager
- To adhere to ITIL best practices and ISO27001 processes and procedures
Skills and experience:
- A good customer services approach
- Experience in sales, preferably in IT
- A understanding of UNIX and Microsoft windows platforms
- A good understanding of TCP/IP
- A good understanding of Internet technologies
- Be able to diagnose and resolve customer technical problems
- Understand by internal training the use and implementation of internal facilities tasks
