Peregrine Newton, Joint Chairman and CEO

As Joint Chairman and CEO, Peregrine’s role comprises three key areas: leading, effectively managing and providing clear direction for the company. His responsibilities include promoting the highest standards of corporate governance and addressing the developing needs of the company, with a view to enhancing the overall effectiveness of the business.

In his capacity as CEO, Peregrine manages general functions, implements strategy and provides financial evaluation and control. He leads the management team and the employees and ensures the profitable growth and overall success of the business.

Peregrine’s business skills have been effectively honed over many years by acquiring, cultivating and growing successful companies. Most recently, he was involved in the strategic development of Nettec plc, a systems integrator specialising in content management systems and corporate portals. The company was floated on the London Stock Exchange in April 2000 and raised a value in excess of £50m.

Previously Peregrine has been Chairman of a number of communications companies. Earlier in his career, he founded Pagebourne Publishing, which went on to publish a number of leading and well respected fashion industry publications.
Steven Joseph, Joint Chairman

Steven Joseph founded The Bunker Secure Hosting Ltd alongside Peregrine Newton and is Joint Chairman. He shares with Peregrine the role of leading, effectively managing and providing a clear direction for the company.

Steven has an extensive background in finance and business management. In the past 15 years he has invested in, developed and sold a number of businesses. His recent successes have included his involvement, as Chairman, in the profitable realisation of investments in Portfolio Foods Ltd (sold to Cadbury in 1996), Decorative Sleeves Ltd (sold to ITW of the US in 2000), C Shippam Ltd (sold to Princes Foods in 2001), Blagden Packaging NV (sold to Alchemy Partners in 2004) and British Pepper & Spice Ltd (sold to SHS Distribution in 2004).

Steven’s earlier career included a range of financial roles: with Continental Group Inc – at the time the world’s largest consumer products packaging company – and as a manager for acquisitions and strategic consulting with Bain & Company.
David Hughes, Non Executive Director

A chartered certified accountant and graduate of Bristol University with a first class degree in Chemistry. David has extensive experience of investing in and supporting the development of both private and public companies across a variety of sectors and also achieving successful exits through sale or listing. Besides providing development capital for growing technology based companies, David has backed both MBOs and MBIs and funded acquisitions.

He is a director on the board of a number of Foresight Venture Partners’ investee companies. David has some 32 years’ venture capital and corporate finance experience gained principally at 3i. He has also worked at Framlington, Bank Austria and most recently at Advent Venture Partners.
Jean-Loup Brousse de Gersigny, Non Executive Director

Jean-Loup has an MBA from London Business School and after a banking career founded Intermediate Capital Group plc ( ICG ) in 1988. He built it up with his partners to become the largest independent mezzanine institution in Europe with over Euro 8 Bn under management. As a founder of ICG and a professional investor in the Private Equity space, Jean-Loup has accumulated a wealth of board level experience in the assessment, analysis and development of businesses in a multitude of sectors across Europe.

Jean-Loup recognized early on the potential of the market for Ultra secure hosting and managed services and provided much of the original entrepreneurial and financial backing which financed the acquisition and development of the business of The Bunker since 2004. Jean-Loup maintains a very strong interest in the company, is an active member of the board and continues to provide the board with the insight and experience he has gained as a professional investor.

Jean-Loup managed ICG until 2004 when he retired from the board. In addition to his major involvement with The Bunker, Jean-Loup is now advisor/ director of a few Private Equity funds in a non-executive capacity and has a number of other Private Equity investments in companies where he is also a member of the board.
The Bunker’s core technical and operational managment is made up of the world’s leading experts in security managment. They are known for creating some of the most established open-source security solutions globally, and have successfully developed The Bunker’s Security Protocol for the widest possible range of UK enterprises.
Ben Laurie, Non Executive Director

Ben Laurie is acknowledged as one of the foremost computer security experts in the world. He is the creator of Apache-SSL – the web’s de-facto secure web server application, and a core team member of Open SSL – the world’s most widely used cryptographic library.

He is author of ‘Apache: The Definitive Guide,’ is a founding director of Apache Software Foundation (ASF) and the Head of the ASF Security Team.
Simon Neal, Data Centre Services Director

Simon brings an unrivalled knowledge in the data centre market as one of the founder members of the UK Data Centre and Colocation scene. Previously holding a variety of senior positions in the Industry including European Sales Manager and later Managing Director of Redbus Interhouse, now Telecity/Redbus’s UK operations. Simon also holds a number of qualifications in Data Communications, Network Topologies and High Voltage and DC power.
Paul Lightfoot, Managed Services Director

Paul runs the Ash facility and leads the Managed Services team. Previously The Bunker's Technical Services Director, Paul boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience of Bunker operations across all sites, including implementation and maintenance of company security and technology.

Prior to joining The Bunker’s management team, Paul served for 15 years in the Royal Air Force in secure communications and IT based roles.
Andy Theodorou, Chief Financial Officer

The Bunker’s management team is rounded off by Finance Director Andy Theodorou. Andy has over 10 years financial and commercial operations experience within the design, communication and technology sectors. In addition, he has been extensively involved in various acquisitions and disposals and management buy-ins, working closely with Peregrine Newton over this time.

Prior to joining The Bunker, Andy held the post of Financial Controller for Nettec plc. During his tenure at Nettec, Andy spent much of his time building and overseeing the managed services business unit from a financial and commercial perspective, as well as providing financial direction and controls for the sales process.

Andy’s role at The Bunker is to strengthen the overall financial function and to enable the proposed rapid growth to be achieved with strict financial control and discipline.
Mark Hemsley, Head of Core Network and Solutions

Mark manages The Bunker’s core network and heads up the Solutions division. Prior to The Bunker, he has spent over 10 years in the Telecommunications and Service Provider Industry working for KDDI, one of Japans largest Telecoms operators.
Chris Scott, Client Services Director

Chris leads The Bunker’s Service Desk, Technical and Project Management teams. He graduated from Leeds University obtaining a BSC (Hons) degree in Project Management and has had a successful career spanning over 13 years in the IT sector. Throughout his career Chris has managed a variety of bespoke custom IT solutions for clients such as Dell, BT, BAE, The Home Office, Lloyd's Register to name a few. Chris is also ITIL v3.0 certified and a PRINCE2 Practitioner which he has developed as a framework for The Bunker's managed services methodology.
Barry Scott, Head of Data Centre Services

Barry heads up Data Centre Services and manages a highly skilled team of M&E staff that are responsible for all of the operational facilities.

He has spent over 40 years in the IT industry and held various senior operations positions including Operations Director at Anacomp UK Limited, a key player in the Micrographics industry. Before Anacomp, Barry was the National Operations Manager for Microgen UK Limited and was responsible for some 25 operational facilities across the UK. Microgen were the largest producer of microfiche in the UK.

Barry has also worked in Commercial Programming, Systems Analysis and Design, Data Archiving and Project Managment.
