Network
The Bunker’s Network Service Offering:
The Bunker operates its own resilient, redundant, multi-homed gigabit network running between our sites and the Internet. This network is managed by those that built it; our 24/7/365 in-house networks team. This team design, build and manage clients networks and form part of the solutions development team involved in the design and deployment of your solution.
The Bunker utilises the latest standards in routing that have now been widely adopted by most hosting companies. We use Border Gateway Protocol (BGP4) routing which allows us to take advantage of multi-homing and intelligently re-routing traffic to divert round a problem area.
We have multiple peering arrangements in place, improving performance, redundancy, capacity and cost by directly swapping traffic between ISPs without having to go through the transit providers.
The Bunker operates on a Carrier Neutral basis, which means that you are not tied to any single provider for your connectivity. In addition to the growing number of on site tier 1 providers, The Bunker has also secured dual redundant links to POPs in Telehouse and Level 3, allowing connectivity to be purchased directly from over 150 ISPs at specially reduced prices. The Bunker would be happy to negotiate directly on your behalf with your choice of supplier. Available providers include: Packet Exchange, BT, Claranet, Cogent, Easynet, Neos, Abovenet, Cable & Wireless, Colt, T-systems, Easynet, Flag Telecom, MCI world Com, NTL, Thus, Level 3, Interoute, Global Crossing.
The Bunker has developed the following set of products and services which may be integrated into your solution as appropriate:
Expert protection for your servers, using our Ultra* Secure, highly configurable firewall solutions built to the highest security standard.
Two Factor Authentication
Reduce the risks associated with remote access and web-based processes.
Network Intrusion Detection
The Bunker will provide industrial-strength security for your network while reducing cost and complexity by combining multiple security functions into a high-performance appliance.
The Bunker can offer its customers two options for DDOS Mitigation:
- Our standard option protects your entire subnet(s), and is included with our BGP service. The service is controlled and monitored by The Bunker’s NOC and all updates and information flows through The Bunker’s NOC.
- The premier level of service allows clients to apply bespoke mitigation measures and have access to a dedicated client portal for real time threat management.
Delivered over our fault tolerant ring network with Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS). Dynamic routing allows us to deliver fault tolerant point to point and point to multi-point layer 2 connections between our sites. Each of our sites can accept 3rd party Ethernet circuits, allowing you to connect your office directly to your data centre facility. We can also offer dual feeds for each circuit, ensuring that there are no single points of failure (subject to availability).
BGP Service
Delivered over our fault tolerant ring network with dynamic routing. We offer 2 services, each of which come with a dual feed option, ensuring that there are no single points of failure (subject to availability).
Internet Connectivity (Available at our Ash and Newbury Facilities only)
This service provides you with a range of IP addresses to suit your needs (subject to RIPE NCC regulations) and a gateway for your systems to reach the Internet via our fault tolerant ring network.
IP transit (Available at our Ash Facility Only)
This service provides you with a full view of the Internet using BGP4 and allows you to advertise your network into our fault tolerant ring network. Your network will then be advertised through our IP transit providers and private peers to ensure high service levels.
Improve system scalability, customer service and productivity.
