The £1m of new funds was once again raised entirely from existing shareholders at double the value of the last issue. The funds will be used to continue the company’s infrastructure upgrade and development program including the fit out of further data areas at both the Ash and Newbury Data Centres.

The Bunker Secure Hosting Ltd, provider of Ultra* Secure Data Centres and Managed Services is pleased to announce that the Local Better Regulation Office (LBRO) have chosen to use The Bunker to host their Primary Authority System.

LBRO is a non-departmental public body, accountable to the Business Innovation and Skills Department through the Better Regulation Executive. LBRO’s role is to improve local authority enforcement of environmental health, trading standards and licensing. Its overall aim is to secure effective performance of local authority regulatory services, in order to reduce the burden on businesses which comply with the law while targeting those that flout it.

In order to support the Primary Authority System, LBRO required a workflow-driven case management system from a supplier who would work closely with them to ensure their legislative-priorities were met, they selected SciSys an innovative business and technology solutions provider with considerable experience of developing solutions for the public sector, in addition to space, environment, defence, communications, media and transport markets.

The Bunker was approached to host the environment bringing the client, online application and hosting provider elements together and completing the tripartite relationship.

Backup and Disaster Recover.  Again, when set-up correctly a virtualised environment can make backing up and restoring a Dedicated Server very easy indeed. While, the same thing can be done in a single server environment, how often do you get a chance to test a restore (if you only have one server, its near on impossible to test until you really need it to work).

Consolidating 30 physical servers into 30 Dedicated Hosting accounts running on one server would save over 100,000 kWh per year.
