LBRO is a non-departmental public body, accountable to the Business Innovation and Skills Department through the Better Regulation Executive. LBRO’s role is to improve local authority enforcement of environmental health, trading standards and licensing. Its overall aim is to secure effective performance of local authority regulatory services, in order to reduce the burden on businesses which comply with the law while targeting those that flout it.

In order to support the Primary Authority System, LBRO required a workflow-driven case management system from a supplier who would work closely with them to ensure their legislative-priorities were met, they selected SciSys an innovative business and technology solutions provider with considerable experience of developing solutions for the public sector, in addition to space, environment, defence, communications, media and transport markets.

The Bunker was approached to host the environment bringing the client, online application and hosting provider elements together and completing the tripartite relationship.

Dr Stephen Ladyman MP for Thanet South and vice Chairman of the Labour Party was invited to visit The Bunker for a tour of the facility and to discuss future expansion plans for the soon to be developed top site data centre expansion; The Bunker².

The Bunker is expanding its Kent operations in response to increased demand for its services and The Bunker² will maintain the highest standards set by The Bunker by blending state of the art monitoring & evaluation infrastructure with military grade security. The new data centre facility provides an alternative highly secure, low risk Internet hub outside London, servicing clients who wish to establish systems in the UK, but who also require access to the world wide web without entering the high risk London zones.

State of the art and military grade The Bunker2 offers 14,000m² of Tier 3 data floor within the existing defences of The Bunker’s facility, along with 2,000m² of office and support accommodation. Staffed 24/7/365 by security and technical personnel, the development will be of a modular low profile design, cut into the landscape with a grass roof. Each module of 2,200m² blends into the surrounding environment with minimum visual impact.
