Infrastructure
FreeBSD Operating System
FreeBSD is an advanced operating system for x86 compatible (including Pentium and Athlon), amd64 compatible (including Opteron, Athlon 64, and EM64T), Alpha/AXP, IA-64, PC-98 and UltraSPARC® architectures. It is derived from BSD, the version of UNIX developed at the University of California, Berkeley.
Wackamole
Wackamole is an application that helps makes clusters highly available. It manages virtual IPs that should be available to the outside world at all times. Wackamole ensures that a single machine within a cluster is listening on each virtual IP address that Wackamole manages. If it discovers that particular machines within the cluster are not alive, it will immediately ensure that other machines acquire these public IPs. At no time will more than one machine listen on any virtual IP. Wackamole also works toward achieving a balanced distribution of number IPs on the machine within the cluster it manages.
OpenBSD
The OpenBSD project produces a free, multi-platform 4.4BSD-based UNIX-like operating system. Efforts emphasize portability, standardization, correctness, proactive security and integrated cryptography. OpenBSD supports binary emulation of most programs from SVR4 (Solaris), FreeBSD, Linux, BSD/OS, SunOS and HP-UX.
CARP and Pfsync
The two main components provided by OpenBSD are CARP (the Common Address Redundancy Protocol), which allows a backup host to assume the identity of the primary, and pfsync, which ensures that firewall states are synchronised so that the backup can take over exactly where the master left off and no connections will be lost.
Gentoo Linux Operating System
Gentoo Linux, a special flavour of Linux that can be automatically optimized and customized for just about any application or need. Extreme performance, configurability and a top-notch user and developer community are all hallmarks of the Gentoo experience.
Microsoft Windows Server
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 simplifies branch server management, improves identity and access management, reduces storage management costs, provides a rich Web platform and offers cost-effective server virtualization.
Citrix Access Platform
Citrix’s Access Platform is a flexible access infrastructure that makes it easier to connect people to applications and information from any location, with any device, over any network, with the best possible access experience. The Citrix Access Platform is a unique approach that recognizes the convergence of networking, management and security technologies required to deliver applications on-demand.
