Background

Open Source Webservers

Our Open Source webserver, fully managed by The Bunker, serves secure https websites and reverse proxies to backend applications.

With an optimised, secure and efficient configuration capable of serving the most demanding of workloads, we build you a bespoke service. Options of choosing from an exhaustive list of add-ons and modules to use are an integral part of the solution delivered to you. All these can be delivered in highly available and load balanced configurations.

Is it right for me?

Today every website is required to be TLS ready by default, and on top of that you may need to serve heavy workloads to thousands, or even tens of thousands of unique visitors every day. We can help to make all of this simple.

Multiple options are available to ensure maximum uptime. Load balanced set up, performance tuning and monitoring and regular patching to protect you from known vulnerabilities.

The Bunker's Open Source Web Servers deliver secure web servers and reverse proxy servers that offer high performance and security as standard.

Why choose The Bunker?

Here at The Bunker, our services are built around security, availability and integrity, and as such we provide the highest standard of services to meet these requirements.

Our Open Source webserver software offers you the best options in flexibility and security. Your web services will benefit from a secure hardened proven setup, with simple scaling up to service even the most demanding workloads, and support from our experienced team of administrators with a proven track record of secure website hosting.

How OpenSource Webservers with The Bunker work

Your setup will either use nginx or apache; which one will be a decision taken with you, based on matching your site requirements to services in order to optimise both performance and security. If you require high availability of a load balanced setup, we will set up your administrative access so that you have the ability to upload static content and arrange a method of content synchronisation.

Administrative access will require the use of ssh public keys so you can securely transfer content to your site. If you need to dynamically create redirects this access can also be granted, allowing you to self-manage your site.

The CEPH storage layer is added and secured using LUKS disk encryption to secure data at rest, and secret cryptographic authentication to ensure the integrity of messages in transit.

An OpenNebula frontend is deployed to allow users to provision and manage their virtual resources and provide advanced tools such as an API based lifecycle, auto-scaling, public cloud integration, and authentication, further secured with nginx and per user digital certificates and/or identity management.

Comprehensive resource monitoring of the customer private cloud infrastructure is shown on our 24/7/365 monitored NOC screens and the whole stack is orchestrated by our Open Source engineers using ansible.
