The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25th May 2018 and introduces some new requirements as well as enhancing those existing in the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive and related member state legislation (e.g. the UK Data Protection Act 1998). Organisations are currently in varying stages of readiness for the Regulation, ranging from not knowing how it will affect them, to being in the latter stages of a GDPR compliance programme. The Bunker can support organisations at every stage of the compliance journey, through assessments of current compliance readiness; gap analysis of planned or implemented controls; and a full range of GDPR focused services including Data Mapping, Incident Response, Privacy Impact Assessments, Training & Awareness, and Virtual Data Protection Officer. As cyber threats continue to evolve, old security solutions just don’t cut it. Cyber threats and the entire nature of information security are evolving at a blistering pace. It is hard to compartmentalise security down to a single person or department’s job. While the Facilities department focuses on physical security by maintaining the building, IT is hard at work keeping viruses, hackers, unauthorised users and unauthorised content from damaging the information infrastructure. The Bunker can help your organisation implement a layered approach to security and support it’s delivery with one of our Virtual Chief Information Security Officers (vCISO) providing you industry-wide security knowledge and business intelligence for significantly less than the cost of a full-time appointment. Translating risk management theory into practical actions which work in practice and improve the organisations where they are being applied, takes skill. This skill is not in the knowledge of those techniques; rather it is in the application of these techniques to the individual organisation. Too much complexity leads to non-use, while a one-size-fits-all approach can damage the best parts of the business culture that helped the organisation to be successful in the first place.
The Bunker team blends individuals with deep risk expertise and those who have experience operating on the boards of large and small businesses alike. This combination results in an approach that utilises knowledge of the best risk management techniques available, but applies them through the filter of commercial common sense to determine what is appropriate and valuable to your organisation.
